General Information

The following information provides a brief overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit our website. Personal data refers to any information that can be used to personally identify you. For detailed information on data protection, please refer to our Privacy Policy provided at the end of this text.

Data Collection and Processing

When you visit our website, the date and duration of your visit, the individual pages you access, as well as details about the browser and operating system you use are stored in an access log file. These data are used solely for error and performance analyses and are automatically deleted after an appropriate period of time. Our website utilizes online forms to facilitate contact with us. Only the data necessary for an inquiry are required, and the corresponding fields are marked. Entering additional data that are not strictly necessary is entirely voluntary.

We use the collected data exclusively for internal purposes. The data are not transmitted or passed on to third parties (exceptions: obtaining continuing education credits with the Bavarian Medical Association (see below) as well as individually contractually agreed arrangements). We do not use the collected data for advertising purposes.

We process personal data to fulfill contractual obligations pursuant to Article 6(1) Sentence 1 lit. b) GDPR. This includes, in particular:

• Ensuring the operational security
• Processing orders, such as subscriptions, etc.

• Creating statistics to improve products and services
• Preventing, investigating, and reporting criminal offenses, e.g. fraud, such as credit card fraud, identity deception, or obtaining special conditions or rates by deception
• Asserting legal claims, including debt collection and defense in legal disputes
• Auditing
• Advertising, provided that you have not objected to the use of your data
• Creating statistics to improve products and services. In individual cases, we form user groups based on order and usage data; these groups are immediately anonymized.

We process your data on the basis of your consent pursuant to Article 6(1) Sentence 1 lit. a) GDPR for certain purposes, in particular:

• Creating statistics to improve products and services
• Personalized use of the website and personalized offers as well as optimization of the web offering
• Newsletter distribution with regular offers
• Market research
• Customer surveys
• Analytical purposes, in order to optimize our offering for you.

Consent can be revoked at any time in the data protection settings. The revocation of consent only affects future data processing and does not affect the lawfulness of data processing carried out until the revocation.

When cookies, device identifiers, or other information are stored or retrieved on your device for processing, the legal basis is the European Cookie or e-Privacy Directive in conjunction with the Telemedia Act (§ 12 ff. TMG) or the General Data Protection Regulation (Article 6(1) Sentence 1 lit. a) GDPR and Article 6(1) Sentence 1 lit. f) GDPR).

To authorize this, you must enter your EFN in the registration form. Providing this information is voluntary, but if you choose not to submit your EFN, you will not receive continuing education credits from BLÄK.

Data Deletion and Storage Duration

We delete or anonymize your personal data as soon as it is no longer required for the purposes for which it was collected or used.

However, we may need to store your data until the expiration of statutory retention periods imposed by law or regulatory authorities (which may arise from the Commercial Code, Tax Code, and Money Laundering Act – typically 6 to 10 years). Additionally, we may store your data until the expiration of legal limitation periods (typically 3 years, but in individual cases up to 30 years) insofar as this is necessary to assert, exercise, or defend legal claims. Thereafter, the corresponding data are deleted.

Data Security and Protective Measures

We commit to protecting your privacy and treating your personal data confidentially. To prevent manipulation, loss, or misuse of your stored data, we implement extensive technical and organizational security measures that are regularly reviewed and updated in line with technological progress. These measures ensure the confidentiality, integrity, availability, and resilience of your data. This includes the use of recognized encryption methods (SSL or TLS) and pseudonymization.

Please note, however, that due to the nature of the internet, it is possible that the data protection rules and the aforementioned security measures are not observed by others outside our sphere of responsibility. In particular, data that are transmitted unencrypted – for example, via email – can be intercepted by third parties. We have no control over this technically.
